So i was introduced to an app called Atlas Obscura by Jared Craig when we were walking the Camino de Santiago last year. i was using it to find weird and wonderful places in Holland and came across the Dutch Kremlin or the Kunsstuin Winkel.
A fellow named Ger Leegwater, a retired sheet metal worker with an interest in architecture, decided 40 years ago to turn his passion into art.
Ger's workshop
His creations are inspired by Greek mythology.Bacchus, the Roman god of wine.
The Neptune fountain with mythological figures such as Triton, Pegasus and Neptune.
I found this life like statue of mom and babe in the dining hall of greek inspired building.
This depiction of Saint George and the dragon was incredible.
The archangel Michael in the chapel.
Inspired by Russian and Greek architecture.
This is Ger and his latest project a lady with one leg bent and her hand holding it. He uses sheet metal, recycled tires, tiles and anything else you could think of to build with. He has come up with amazing ways to hold up his projects and get things into place. A unique and entertaining place to visit.
